The LUBING nipples are the core of the Drinking-Systems. Due to different flow rates, these can be used with or without drip cups for dry litter. The correct height adjustment is important. This depends on the size of the animals: The ideal height is a height at which the animals have to stretch slightly to absorb water.
With drip cup
Drinking nipples for layers used with drip cup (e. g. Art. 4617) have a slightly higher flow rate.
Stainless steel nipple item 4001
This stainless steel nipple is screwed into the nipple pipe with an R 1/8" thread.
LUBING has only defined an operating point for the comparability of the different nipples. For this purpose, we have set the water column to 20 cm and the height of the lower pin to 3 mm. With the values measured at this point of the curve, we can compare the nipples nominally. The curves of individual nipples are then different again, so that they are adapted to the needs of the species. The flow rates are adapted to the age of the animals themselves. Day-old chicks moving the underpin only laterally or slightly in the vertical direction get only a small amount of water flowing through the nipple. If the animals are older and therefore stronger, they lift the lower pin up to the maximum lifting height. Then the nipples offer the maximum flow rate.
